  • Home again, home again...

Thanks for your prayers... we had a great time in Italy getting a glimpse of the potential ministry possibilities there and being in Italy again. We flew into Milan on Friday 5/16 and spent the first few days with Crossworld's church-planting teams in Milan and Sesto Calende (just outside of Milan). We were able to attend an Evangelical church in Milan at one of the more established churches there and they had a record attendance that Sunday of about 150 people. Following the service and lunch at the church we headed to Abruzzo (about 3 hours from Rome on the Adriatic Sea) with Robby Roberts to stay with a precious Italian family and meet some new Italian friends and see the area and church where the Roberts will move this summer. We even went bowling with a group of Italian highschoolers which was a neat experience. On Tuesday, we headed to Rome to spend the last few days touring Rome in the pouring rain (it rained everyday we were in Italy-ugh!) and catching up with friends that Lucas had met during his two years with Campus Crusade in Rome. We stayed with Tommaso and Sara (some of you may have met Tommaso when he visited us in Arkansas summer of 2005). The trip was a whirlwind of activity, meeting new people, and lots of details to process through but a very good time to meet people, see some ministry opportunities firsthand, and to think through what the Lord may have in store for us in Italy after Lucas finishes at Dallas Seminary in May 2010. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we seek the Lord for direction and make future plans. To see a few pics see the photo section.

    Love to you all,
    Carrie & Lucas

  • On our way to Italy

We are on our way to the airport to visit CrossWorld's church-planting ministry in Italy. Please pray for us as we travel and get a glimpse of the ministry first-hand and where the Lord may be leading us after Lucas finishes seminary at DTS and for the interaction we have with some of Lucas' friends that he met when he lived in Rome. We're very excited about this trip and what the Lord has in store for our future. Ok, better get to the airport, but we'll plan to send an update when we get back.

    Love, Carrie

  • Christmas Ministry Idea

Here is a Christmas ministry idea if you're interested... Our church was promoting "Operation Christmas Child" yesterday and the video they showed literally brought tears to my eyes as I saw the faces of children around the world given shoeboxes full of necessities and fun stuff while being presented with the gospel.  We may only be able to send a shoebox full of items to help them in their current circumstances, but we have the opportunity to give them an eternity with our Savior, free from the suffering of their current circumstances.  I've heard of this opportunity many times before but have never been impacted by it quite like this and wanted to pass the info along for those of you who might be interested in particpating with us.  I've included links below with the video we saw yesterday and instructions for the boxes if you're interested.  The deadline to receive the boxes is in November so we only have a few more weeks to do this even if you're not ready to think about the holidays yet... this could be a great way to start your Christmas shopping this year. =)

  • Rangers Game

Sunday night, Lucas and I went to a Rangers Game with our new friends Luke and Kristen and had amazing seats right behind the dugout... I've included a couple pics on our photo strip that L&K took.  Today the fall semester officially begins for us, Lucas' birthday is Thursday, and this weekend we're off to Mt. Nebo with my fam so we've got a fun but busy week ahead.  Have a great Labor Day weekend!
